Behind the Book is hiring! We seek to fill three positions:
Director of Development with the skills and vision to garner support and funds for our school programs. The DoD will manage all aspects of fundraising for the organization, including contributing to and executing the organizationís strategic fundraising plan. Learn more and apply.
Director of Programming will organize and manage all aspects of programs from conception to execution and measurement. The Director of Programming works closely with the ED and with partner schools and manages a team of program coordinators, including part-time and volunteer. Learn more and apply.
Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for supplying volunteers for programming, events and office work. This involves cultivating new and continuing volunteers and keeping track of volunteer hours. Learn more and apply.
Program Coordinator - Part Time to run our innovative reading promotion programs in schools. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for designing and implementing programs that align to the Common Core Standards, fit into the teacherís curriculum and meet our program goals. The Behind the Book Reading Series at KGB Bar takes place the second Thursday of every month.

Behind The Book's mission is to motivate young people to become engaged readers by connecting them to contemporary writers and illustrators. We bring authors and their books into individual classrooms to build literacy skills and create a community of life-long readers and writers. Our programs take place in underserved K-12 public schools, are part of the class curricula and meet the Common Core Standards.
