Miyo Tubridy

Program Coordinator

Miyo Tubridy is a queer, mixed-race Japanese American educator, storyteller, writer, and parent who loves books of all kinds! She taught middle and high school English Language Arts in New York City public schools in Queens and the Lower East Side for fifteen years. More recently, she immersed herself in the worlds of writing and storytelling while working as a Program Manager with Slant’d, an AAPI literary arts nonprofit, and as a Storytelling Instructor with The Moth. She is published in Raising Mothers and Mixed Roots: Writers on Multiracial Both/And Belonging. Miyo grew up in Seattle, WA, and Harlem has been her home for twenty years. She has a MA in Teaching of English from Teachers College, Columbia University and a BA in Ethnic Studies from Brown University. Miyo believes in the power of curiosity, play, and creative expression to connect with oneself and community.
