WHO:
Lydia Millet is the acclaimed author of six novels, including My Happy Life, which won the 2003 PEN-USA Award for Fiction and Oh Pure and Radiant Heart, which was short-listed for the 2007 Arthur C. Clarke Award. Jonathan Lethem has called her one of his favorite writers. In a starred review of her latest novel, How the Dead Dream, Publisher’s Weekly writes "Millet proves no less lyrical, haunting or deliciously absurd in her brilliant sixth novel than in her fifth...an involving character study and a stunning meditation on loss--planetary and otherwise--Millet's latest unfolds like a beautiful, disturbing dream."
Abha Dawesar is the author of three novels. Her second novel, Babyji, won the 2006 American Library Association's Stonewall Book Award and the 2005 Lambda Literary Award. Her most recent novel, That Summer in Paris, follows an aging writer whose involvement with a young woman forces him to face the eternal question of love. Author Bharati Mukherjee describes the novel as “elegant and contemplative.” Ms. Dawesar is also a winner of a New York Foundation for the Arts Fiction Fellowship.
