Ribalow Prize, winner of the Borders New Voices Prize, and a finalist for the Hemingway Foundation/PEN award, the NYPL Young Lions award, and the Barnes & Noble Discover award. It has been adapted to film and widely translated. She is also the author of an essay collection, Time's Magpie , and a second novel Wickett's Remedy . Her short stories have appeared in McSweeney's and Harper's , and her book reviews in The New York Times and Bookforum . She is the inspiration for The Decemberists's song, "Song For Myla Goldberg." She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and their daughter. Rick Moody is a novelist, memoirist, and short-story writer. His first novel, Garden State , won the Pushcart Editor's Choice Award, and his second novel, The Ice Storm , was made into a film by Ang Lee. His next book, Purple America , was followed by two short-story collections, The Ring of Brightest Angels Around Heaven and Demonology . His memoir, The Black Veil , won the PEN/Martha Albrand Award for the Art of the Memoir. His latest novel is The Diviners . He has received the Addison Metcalf Award, The Paris Review Aga Khan Prize, and a Guggenheim Fellowship. His work has appeared in The New Yorker , Esquire , The Paris Review , Harper's , The Atlantic , and The New York Times . He has also recorded an album, " Rick Moody and One Ring Zero ."
