The next reading in the Behind the Book series at KGB Bar will be on February 9, 2006, from 7:00-9:00pm. Literary stars Sam Lipsyte and Christine Schutt will be reading.

WHO:
Sam Lipsyte’s most recent novel is Home Land, a New York Times Notable Book for 2005 and winner of the Believer Book Award. He is also the author of The Subject Steve and Venus Drive, a collection of short stories named one of the top twenty-five books of the year by the Voice Literary Supplement. His fiction and nonfiction have appeared in many magazines and journals, including the New York Times Book Review, Slate, and Open City, and his books have been translated into several languages. He lives in Queens.

Christine Schutt is the author of the novel Florida, a finalist for the 2004 National Book Award for Fiction, and two collections of short stories, Nightwork, and most recently, A Day, a Night, Another Day, Summer. Nightwork was poet John Ashbery’s choice for best book of 1996 for the Times Literary Supplement. Her work, which has garnered an O. Henry Prize and a Pushcart Prize, is published widely in literary journals. She lives and teaches in New York City.
