Behind the Book offers a variety of programs to suit the needs of each school. We prefer to have three author visits in each classroom spread out during the school year. We can work with one classroom or more than one. We can also work with any grades you choose. We have found, particularly in elementary schools, that one grade being designated as the Behind the Book grade gives students something to identify that grade with and solves the problem of not giving the program to the entire school. We can do the same programs for the grade or different, depending on your needs. We usually prefer to work in the classroom, where the students are most comfortable, and we prefer to have a maximum of two visits by the same author in one day. There are some authors who work well in assembly formats and we can guide you on the best format for you, the students, and the authors. We charge the schools less than one quarter of the cost of the programs which includes the search for the author, the books to the students, the author visit, art materials, curriculum support, and the publishing of student work on the website.
