Harvey Milk High School, Manhattan, District 2



Opening its doors as a fully accredited four-year high school in the summer of 2003, Harvey Milk High School is a transfer high school offering a safe space for youth who have not found success in their previous high schools.   Harvey Milk High School is open to all students seeking an intensely personalized educational experience in a highly diverse community in terms of ethnicity, gender, gender identity and sexual orientation. Working with instructor Orville Bell, Behind the Book has collaborated with the school since its inception.
