PS 116 William C. Hughley School, Jamaica, Queens, District 29
Behind the Book has worked with William C. Hughley School to foster literacy within its community of 900 young students. Through programs like writing workshops, literacy bestows students with the tools necessary to take their learning abilities into the future and become lifelong learners. This past year, authors Marthe Jocelyn, Marc Tauss, and Gail Carson Levine paid visits to classes at the school.
