Doreen Rappaport, Nobody Gonna Turn Me 'Round, historical fiction workshop

Author Doreen Rappaport worked with a 5th-grade class to create illustrated books based on her book Escape from Slavery. Each student wrote and illustrated his or her own biography of a famous African-American. The class also thoughtfully critiqued the manuscript for Doreen's newest book, which she graciously shared with the class. She has incorporated many of the classes suggestions, for which she will thank the class in the published book.
