Behind the Book is hiring! We seek to fill the following positions:

Director of Programming will organize and manage all aspects of programs from conception to execution and measurement. The Director of Programming works closely with the ED and with partner schools and manages a team of program coordinators, including part-time and volunteer. Learn more and apply.

Program Coordinator will be responsible for designing and implementing programs that align to the Common Core Standards, fit into the teacherís curriculum and meet our program goals to engage students in reading, increase writing skills and increase self-efficacy. Learn more and apply.

The Behind the Book Reading Series at KGB Bar will break for July and August, but will resume in September. Have a great summer and keep reading!

Behind The Book's mission is to motivate young people to become engaged readers by connecting them to contemporary writers and illustrators. We bring authors and their books into individual classrooms to build literacy skills and create a community of life-long readers and writers. Our programs take place in underserved K-12 public schools, are part of the class curricula and meet the Common Core Standards.
