BEHIND THE BOOK COMEDY NIGHT

On March 28th, 2009, Behind the Book hosted its first-ever Comedy Night at Eastville Comedy Club. Over 120 guests attended the event and enjoyed performance by comedians, Todd Barry, Godfrey, and Rachel Feinstein.

Several lucky guests won a SONY Reader ($300 value!), brunch for two at Community Food and Juice, a gift certificate to Great Jones Cafe, a gift card to Macy's ($50), a gift certificate for 24 signature cupcakes from Crumbs Bake Shop.

The mission of Behind the Book is to excite children and young adults about reading. Working with low-income students in New York City’s K-12 public schools, Behind the Book brings authors and their books into individual classrooms to build literacy skills and nurture a new generation of book readers.
