As part of a science unit on rock formations, a 4th-grade class worked with Jessica Marshall,
producer of Go Wild in New York City, to create their own books on rock types found in NYC. Go Wild in New York City takes readers on a tour of the natural world in NYC. Jessica led students in researching and writing about rock formations. Students made, wrote, and illustrated oversized accordion books modeled after Go Wild in New York City, which they submitted for the school’s science fair—where they were also the resident rock experts.
