Behind the Book Special Event

On Friday, March 7th, Behind the Book held an all-day series of author visits with various classrooms at PS 274, featuring poet Tony Medina. The visits were the culmination of a school-wide author study of Mr. Medina's work, and the buzz surrounding his visit was electric. Students enthusiastically read their own writing, based on Mr. Medina's Love to Langston and DeShawn Days, and Mr. Medina led spirited discussions and readings of his work. Overall, the visit was a case-in-point of the profound impact that Behind the Book's programs have on our students' engagement with literature.
